Thanks to everyone who gave up their time before the Hibs match to collect for Erskine. A total of £4,117.47 was raised. The volunteers are pictured above along with crew from HMS Dalriada, Rangers legend Johnny Hubbard and Rangers Director, John Gilligan. Thanks to everyone at the club for allowing the collection and to all the fans who gave so generously.
Congratulations to RSEA Patron Lee Wallace for winning the players player of the year and the fans player of the year at the Club Awards Dinner to add to the PFA League One Player of the Year Award. Well done and thanks for all your support!
Nith Valley RSC hand Lee McCulloch a cheque for £2000 to use for the dementia unit at Erskine Park’s new Reminiscence therapy room
The money was raised by Nith Valley RSC in association with Naples Loyal in Florida and will help kit out the room which plays a vital part in the treatment of dementia sufferers at Erskine. Well done to all involved.

On Sunday 4th May 130 Rangers fans were joined by ex-player Graham Roberts and ex-Premiership Referee Jeff Winter for a Sportsmans’ lunch in the Kilmaurs Masonic Social Club. Guests travelled from as far afield as Fort William and Cumnock! The occasion was in memory of Rangers fan and Past Master of the Lodge John McGilp who passed away in 2012 from a heart attack and was in association with the Kilmarnock Teddy Bears RSC. In the past two years the event has raised a total of £7200 but this year all expectations were broken when the amassed crowd raised £4200 for the three charities which were the British Heart Foundation, The Rangers’ Suporters’ Erskine Appeal and Star for Harris. Each will receive a cheque for £1400. This year the event also remembered Drew Ferguson of Fort William who had travelled to the event in 2012 but tragically passed away last year whilst in his mid-20s. His family had requested that Star for Harris was one of the three nominated charities. The organisers would like to thank all those who attended, Kilmaurs Masonic Social Club, those who brought raffle prizes and who spent a great deal of cash on buying auction items. Special thanks goes to Ian “Eckie” Clark who brilliantly MC’d the event. Eckie was a great friend of John.

On Saturday May 11th, 130 Lochaber Rangers supporters gathered in the BA Club, Fort William, for the “Blue Do 2013″: a question and answer session with John”Bomber” Brown and Mark Hateley about their experiences and memories of playing for Rangers.
The night was a charity event in memory of John McKenzie McGilp, of Kilmaurs Ayrshire, who died suddenly of a heart attack, aged 67 in February 2012. John had been a member of the RAF, having joined as a boy entrant at age 15 and served for 15 years including Active service in Aden.
The three charities supported on the night, The British Heart Foundation, the Beatson Cancer Research Centre and the Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal received £1360, £1360 and £680 respectively, a sum total of £3400. A similar event in John’s home village in June 2012 raised a sum of £3800 for three similar charities.
Event organisers, John McGilp’s son, also John and Nigel Patterson would like to express their thanks to Anne Nielson and the staff at the BA Club, Brian Hume and the staff of Strathmore Hotels, Alan Moffit and David MacDonald Roofing services for their help in organising the event as well as extendiong thanks to John and Mark for their entertainment on the night. Thanks also go to Rosie and Steven Naismith, David Healy and Jim Hannah of Rangers for helping with auction items.
The Cross Keys Rangers Supporters Club from Stevenston raised £1100 at a fundraising day. Club member Jimmy McMurrin came up with the idea of when the club decided not to run a bus to the recent cup tie against Dundee United and the club members came out in force to raise a fantastic amount. Raffle prizes were donated by Slaters in Ayr and Patons Butchers in Largs as well as several other local businesses. Established in 1968 the Cross Keys Loyal is one of the largest and longest running supporters clubs in the country. Drawing their members from Stevenston, Saltcoats, Ardrossan and Kilwinning they run 3 coaches to every home game.
