As Scotland’s foremost provider of care for veterans and their spouses, Erskine Veterans Charity is more than a charity — it’s a community, a family, and a lifeline for Scotland’s Veterans and their loved ones. Since 1916, we’ve provided expert care and unwavering support for ex-Service men and women, continually evolving to meet the changing needs of those who’ve served our country.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Erskine, Scotland’s leading Veterans charity, continues to make a meaningful difference to the lives of 1,300 Veterans and families in Scotland annually, as the only charity in Scotland to offer such a wide-ranging suite of person-centred services for beneficiaries.
We offer tailored, person-centred care within our two care homes on the East and West coasts, a Veterans Village offering 44 family cottages, 5 assisted living and 23 supported transition apartments for Veterans of all ages and life stages.
The two Erskine Veterans Activity Centres (EVAC) West in Bishopton and EVAC North in Forres, deliver life-changing and lifesaving support to Veterans every day by offering a safe space for Veterans to come together with like-minded people. Erskine strives to ensure Veterans across the country have access to similar facilities and as such plans to open more EVACs in the next five years.
The Erskine Veterans Home Support service enables Veterans living in the community, to live better, longer lives at home in their own local community. The service offers support during times of difficulty, providing practical, physical, or emotional support around the home. Staff also provide assistance to attend social activities for those experiencing loneliness and isolation.
The Erskine Veterans Charity operates two care homes, on the East and West coasts for Veterans and their spouses. Our strength lies in the very special blend of dedicated care, compassion and understanding we offer to our residents and their families. When Erskine was founded in 1916 our aim was to care for Service men and women who had been injured in active service. Today, care remains the cornerstone of our philosophy. We provide unrivalled nursing, residential, and dementia care. Our person-centred care is tailored to the needs of each individual veteran. All bedrooms are equipped with full-disabled access and en-suite facilities. Our recreation facilities provide social activities, entertainment and organised day or evening trips are of huge importance to our resident’s health and wellbeing. The homes offer a unique quality of care with the provision of physiotherapy, speech & language therapy, dentistry and podiatry on site.
