April 2026
It has been a busy start to the year with the sale of the Paddy Mayne masonic coins raising £7000 for Erskine and the Newtonards Masonic Centre. The coins are sold out but we may have other similar products later in the year. Make sure you are on our mailing list to be kept informed.

Wedding bells were in the air at Ibrox for Stewart Brown and his new wide Dianne. A longstanding supporter of the RSEA, Stewart, asked for donations to Erskine instead of presents and raised over £2000. Thanks to the couple and everyone at the RSEA wishes them every happiness.

The 20th of March saw the RSEA Glasgow Dinner at the Sherbrooke Castle. Hosted as ever by Gordon Smith the sell out crowd heard Mark Walters, Mark Hateley and Bomber Brown tell stories of their time in football and were entertained with a selection of Rangers songs from Rebecca Auchterlonie. A total of £15,050 was raised on the night. Thanks to everyone who attended and took adverts in the Event programme. Thanks also to our main sponsors, Megatech Projects and Roxburgh Group.
With a host of Rangers royalty present we took the opportunity to present the ceremonial cheque for the 2025 fundraising of £103,996.15. Thanks again to everyone.

As Easter came closer we made an appeal to raise funds so that every Erskine resident could get an Easter Egg. As always, you stepped up and a special delivery was made in time for Easter!

From an Erskine facebook post…
“Army Veteran Chris Downie had one wish: to walk again. After a head-on collision with another vehicle, Chris Downie was gravely injured and needed to be resuscitated 3 times. Chris spent four months in a coma. Upon waking, he had a significant brain injury affecting his communication, memory and mobility and had learning difficulties. Chris was just 32 years old at the time of the accident.Chris moved into The Erskine Home in 2020. Thanks to our incredible care team and the support of generous donors, his life has improved greatly.
Chris had one big wish: to walk again. Physiotherapist Andy has been working closely with Chris to improve his mobility. Then came a generous donation of funds from the Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal to buy a hydraulic walker. Since then, Chris is now able to walk the length of the physio department, and is getting a little further every day.”
